    An Excellent Buy; I highly recommend

    If you set up / program / troubleshoot Internet switches / routers or other such devices, do yourself a vast favour and get one of these USB-to-Console Cables and make your life a whole lot easier.

    This product is exactly what is most needed to connect (modern) computers & laptops that simply do not have "parallel ports"; thus allowing a connection to the Console Ports of internet routers / switches and other such devices.

    While there are other, "cheaper" similar devices on the market, the drivers simply do not exist for them, the chip-sets don't work, and thus trying to use the cheaper ones is an exercise in utter frustration.

    Don't think that by "buying cheap" you'll be saving money; you won't.

    I purchased six of these (two as spare) and can "console in" to four devices simultaneously and thus do Initial Set-Ups on multiple devices with ease; all from the same computer via a USB cable and USB hub.

    These devices can also be used to "replace / upgrade" the operating system of the switch /router (other device) at a vastly higher baud rate than the traditional console cable is capable of; thus instead of the job taking hours, it takes minutes.
